On Friday 9th December, Sligo Centre for Independent Living and Number 45 were honoured to host the Minister of State at the Department of Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth, Minister Anne Rabbitte TD. The minister visited our premises at High Street, Sligo, accompanied by Minister for State in Health Frank Feighan. They had great things to say about our facilities.

Following a tour of Number 45 and a recitation of “We 45ers” by poet Ed McPhillips, the minister remarked that “this is what good looks like.” She said she appreciated the “blended approach” of Number 45 in terms of addressing both the social and healthcare needs of individual people. The minister stayed for a chat with our staff and service users, taking the time to get familiar with our story and our vision.
